After watching Paranormal Activity I decided to place a camera in my house to try and document some of the claims my wife had been making about our house being haunted.
After just one night this is what I captured. Not being able to explain any of the events that took place that night I am convinced that our house is indeed haunted.
This is an attempt by me to duplicate some of the effects in Paranormal Activity. All of the shots were composed in Adobe After Effects. Please tell me what you think.
- All shots (except the very first between me and Jess) were done around 11:30 in the morning!
- The door was opened and closed using fishing line with me transiting between rooms edited out
- The shadow was created with an overlay of me walking across the hallway with the opacity turned down and darkness turned up using masking in After Effects
- The night vision was added with layers and effects in After Effects
- All sounds (scream, boom, footsteps,ect) were compiled using the Audacity sound program

Hope you liked it, just trying to show how easy it is to pull off a little ‘haunting’ of your own. I will be creating a video tutorial on how to achieve the ‘Paranormal Activity’ night cam shot, so stay tuned for that.
